How to Qualify for NTRP Nationals

The NTRP National Championships for 2027 will have singles, doubles and mixed doubles events for three age divisions: 18+, 40+ and 55+. Qualification for the NTRP Nationals is based on section quota and position on the national ranking list. Up to one (1) player (or team) from Mid-Atlantic will be selected in each division. Additional participants may be selected based on overall registrations. All players must register for the event and appear on the respective age division/NTRP Ranking list at the time registration closes to be considered for selection. Players may play in any open NTRP USTA events (Level 1 - Level 7), regardless of section, in order to earn a ranking.

 

 

Please Note: Age Division, Adult League or non NTRP Tournament participation will not result in ranking points on the NTRP National ranking list.

Up to one (1) Mid-Atlantic players or teams will be selected for each division. Additional participants may be selected based on overall registrations. Players MUST be USTA MA Members in good standing. 

 

Eligibility Requirements:

The NTRP Championships are based on a player's 2027 NTRP Rating.

• Players may have been bumped up for 2027. They are eligible for their NEW NTRP and will play in their new 2027 NTRP Rating.

• If a player is Double Bumped, the player must play in the new double bumped level (ie 3.0 bumped to 4.0 must play 4.0). 

• SELF RATED PLAYERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. A player must have a computer rating.

  • Players must have a valid NTRP (C, A, T, or D) at the time of entries closing. Players with a valid Mixed Exclusive (M) Rating may use this rating for Mixed Doubles only. Players with a Self (S) rating will not be accepted. If a player with a T or M rating is required to Self Rate to play in USTA League, these players may still register if their T or M rating was valid when they self rated. 

• Players who turn the minimum age of their age group in 2027 must be of that minimum age prior to the first day of the month during which any event in the tournament is scheduled to start in order to be eligible for the 2027 NTRP National Championships.

Registration: 

• Players MUST register by entry deadline to be considered for selection. 

 

• A player MUST be ranked on the respective age/NTRP division ranking list at the time registration closes. Players who do not appear on the rankings lists will not be selected. Unsure? Check the NTRP Tournament Ranking lists here.

   

• The combined National Standing of a doubles team registering for NTRP Nationals will be prioritized. Ex: If the number 5 and 10 from the Mid-Atlantic Sign up together, they would be prioritized for selection before the number 2 and 20 if they also signed up together.
