Lindsay Davenport extended as U.S. Billie Jean King Cup captain through 2027
The USTA announced that Lindsay Davenport has signed a two-year renewal to continue serving as the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup captain through 2027.
Since taking over the captaincy in 2024, Davenport has led the U.S. to a 5-2 record in Billie Jean King Cup competition, including an appearance in the Final this year – the U.S.’s first since 2018. Davenport was one of the most successful U.S. Billie Jean King Cup players in history, helping to lead the U.S. to titles in 1996, 1999 and 2000.
“It’s an incredible honor to serve as U.S. Billie Jean Cup Captain, and I’m thrilled and humbled to continue doing it, especially during such an amazing time for women’s tennis in America,” Davenport said. “We have so many amazing ladies competing and winning at the highest levels year-round, and it’s a privilege to get to work with them while wearing the red, white and blue. I’m so looking forward to what we can accomplish together in the years ahead.”
The U.S. Billie Jean King Cup Team will next compete in 2025 Qualifying in April, against an opponent and at a site to be determined via draw.
